Trident Group Marks International Yoga Day with Large-Scale Wellness Drive Across India
Trident Group celebrated the 12th International Yoga Day across its facilities in Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Ludhiana, bringing together more than 1,000 employees, families and villagers. Chairman Emeritus Rajinder Gupta stressed the importance of yoga in achieving physical health, mental balance and social harmony while reinforcing the company's commitment to workplace wellness.
Certified instructors conducted guided yoga and meditation sessions at all locations, where participants practised various yoga postures, breathing exercises and meditation techniques designed to improve flexibility, concentration and physical fitness. The sessions also focused on encouraging healthy daily habits, mindfulness and regular physical activity.
Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's message of "Yoga for Humanity 2.0", the programme highlighted the role of yoga in strengthening physical health, mental well-being and social harmony. The participation of local communities reflected Trident Group's belief that health and wellness are collective responsibilities that contribute to stronger and more resilient societies.
Speaking on the significance of yoga in modern life, Trident Group Chairman Emeritus and Rajya Sabha member Rajinder Gupta said yoga is not merely a physical exercise but a complete way to make life balanced, meaningful and purposeful. He said that in today's fast-paced world, people often sacrifice health and mental balance in the pursuit of success. According to him, Indian culture has always taught that success and happiness complement each other rather than stand in opposition.
Explaining the essence of yoga, Rajinder Gupta said the term originates from the Sanskrit word "yuj", meaning "to join" or "to unite". He said yoga creates harmony between the body, mind, intellect and spirit. In ancient India, yoga extended beyond physical postures and represented a way of life that nurtured discipline, patience, concentration, service and balance.
He further stated that modern lifestyles are contributing to rising levels of stress, anxiety and mental exhaustion, making yoga increasingly relevant. According to him, yoga not only helps maintain physical health but also offers mental clarity, emotional stability and spiritual balance. Referring to the younger generation, he said that although young people today enjoy unprecedented opportunities, they also face immense pressure to succeed. In such circumstances, yoga provides the confidence, direction and strength needed to maintain balance in life.
Rajinder Gupta said that while technology and opportunities will continue to evolve in a rapidly changing world, balance, concentration and adherence to values will remain essential. He urged people to make yoga an integral part of their daily routines and embrace India's invaluable heritage.
The programme also reflected Trident Group's sustained focus on workplace wellness through regular awareness campaigns promoting posture correction, eye relaxation exercises, desk-based stretching and wellness breaks. These initiatives underline the company's commitment to preventive healthcare, healthy ageing and a positive workplace environment.
The enthusiastic response witnessed across all locations demonstrated the growing acceptance of yoga as an effective means of reducing stress, enhancing productivity and promoting healthier lifestyles. Refreshments were arranged for all participants.
